Travel Essentials and What to Pack!

With my summer holiday to Morocco fast approaching, I'm beginning to start thinking about clothes, packing and getting organised. I am such a hoarder and I always want to bring my whole wardrobe with me 'just in case', for example last year I brought 20 bikinis to Cancun but I was only there for 14 days!! I'm usually quite a last minute packer and I end up bringing so many things that I never wear or products I never use.

The last few trips that I've taken I've managed to master the art of packing (almost!). I'm going to share with you all my secrets to packing, what to bring with you and how to make the most of the space in your suitcase.

Hand Luggage

A girl can dream about that luggage! I always pack my valuables, important travel documents and electronic items in my hand luggage. I always see the baggage handlers throwing the cases on and off the plane, so it just isn't worth the risk of my valuables being damaged. And in the chance that your bag goes missing at least you will have your ipad, laptop, tickets, insurance documents and makeup with you.

Clothing and Shoes

When it comes to packing clothes I always get a pen and paper and plan my outfits for daytime and nighttime. I try my best to reuse clothing items for example if I wear a pair of shorts one evening, I'll wear them as a daytime outfit later on in the week. When packing my items I actually roll them up to make the most of the space in my suitcase and it also ensures that my clothes won't crease, yay no ironing on holiday! I usually bring one pair of flip flops for the pool, a pair of white converse trainers and then I bring 2/3 other pairs of shoes/ heels that are versatile enough to wear with any evening outfit.

When it comes to packing makeup, I really shouldn't be giving you guys advice!! My case is usually half full of cosmetics and beauty products. I got a gorgeous makeup case from ASOS and I'm only going to bring my favourite products with me!

Primer is the TimeBalm face primer by the Balm
Illuminator is MAC Strobe Cream; (The travel size bottle is much better value for money)
Foundation Urban Decay Naked Skin in shade 3.0
Concealer is MAC Pro Longwear in NW15
Highlight Powder Becca X Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop
Cream Contour Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Contour Kit
Contour Powder The Balm Bahama Mama
Blush Cargo Cosmetics Water Resistant Blush
Eyeshadows I plan on bringing my most used single eyeshadows and depotting them into a palette
Eyeliner The Balm Schwing Liner and Inglot Gel Liner in #77
Mascara Too Faced Better Than Sex (They now have a waterproof formula!!)
If I'm brutally honest I'll bring about ten lipliners and twenty lipsticks because I just can't choose!!
Brushes of course will be my trusty Nima Brushes

Suncare and First Aid

Last year in Cancun myself and my boyfriend were very sick with sun stroke and I realised how vital it is to bring a first aid kit with you. Pop into your local pharmacy where you can pick up these items. Painkillers, tablets for upset tummies, and anti-histamines are absolutely vital as these kind of illnesses are the last thing you want to spoil a holiday. I'd always pack a high factor sun cream, aloe vera gel and after sun lotion.  I always bring plasters in case you cut myself (dirt/ glass on the ground or even blisters from shoes) and deet to keep pesky mosquitoes away.

Those items we always forget...

- Travel adapters
- Chargers
- Travel Insurance
- Tickets
- Hotel Confirmation
- Make sure you call your bank and let them know you will be travelling so your funds aren't frozen

I hope you enjoyed this short guide to packing! If you have any other ideas or essentials comment below :)

Lots of Love,
