Review; NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream

I've had my eyes on these NYX matte lip creams for a long time and finally they have arrived in Ireland! They retail for €7.75 which is really affordable. I planned on only buying one lip cream, but when I saw all the beautiful shades I just couldn't help myself.

(Shades; Cannes, Stockholm and Copenhagen)

The shade cannes is a gorgeous pink with a red undertone.
Stockholm is my favourite shade. It is a beautiful pinky/peach/nude shade.
Copenhagen is a bold shade and will be gorgeous for the Christmas season.

The swatches are below in the order of; Cannes, Stockholm and Copenhagen.

My first impression when I tried them was that I absolutely hated the lip creams. These creams will look rubbish if you don't prepare your lips well (Exfoliate/ Prime). I used the Lush bubblegum lip scrub to get rid of my chapped lips and I would highly suggest priming your lips beforehand; MAC Prep and Prime is second to none. To get full coverage from these lip creams you will need to apply two coats. Lining your lips is also essential when applying these creams, so that the colour doesn't bleed.

I love how they don't dry too quickly so you have a bit of time to work with them and perfect your lip shape. They dry completely matte and look gorgeous. All of the colours wore well throughout the day, but I did notice after about 4 hours of wearing Copenhagen it began to crack quite badly.  I have to mention that these lip creams smell absolutely divine!

Overall I'm quite impressed with these lip creams, especially when they are so inexpensive. I had heard many bloggers comparing them to liquid lipsticks and unfortunately that it isn't the case at all. They are even nicer that the butter glosses if you have tried those. They are pigmented, they moisturise the lips and look very pretty.  There are so many colours to choose from and I will definitely be picking up some more!

Lots of Love,
