My new drugstore favourites

For years I have used Mac studio fix fluid foundation and Mac prolongwear foundation both day and night. Lately I've wanted to try alternative foundations and concealers that are less expensive. My skin has cleared up a lot lately and I want to use a foundation that is lighter on my skin. I was shopping on Thursday with the gorgeous Jessica from All What Glitters blog, and she knows everything to do with makeup! She recommended these two products from Boots and I am so blown away by these products.

Firstly I will talk about the Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer which can purchased here and is only €11.99. I have extremely dark under-eye circles and it is so difficult to find a concealer that covers the bags and doesn't crease. I've used this concealer for only 3 days and I am so in love with it, there's no looking back. This budget concealer is the way to go.

The concealer is in a thin plastic tube with a round-top sponge that you can use as the applicator. You twist the red section of the packaging to release the product into the sponge. The applicator is brilliant as it distributes product evenly. You will need to use your fingers, brush or a beauty blender (which I would recommend the most) to blend the concealer.

I bought the concealer in the shade 'light' which can often be difficult to get your hands on, if you see it in stock just grab it! The concealer feels really light on the face, but it does an amazing job of hiding any imperfections. It is really blendable, brightening and doesn't crease into any fine lines.
This concealer gives full coverage as it completely hides the black circles under my eyes and any spots. It is brilliant for brightening the undereye and I can imagine this will be a firm favourite in my contouring routine.

You cannot go wrong with this budget concealer in my opinion. I have tried so many concealers and nothing has been better than the Mac Pro Longwear, but I think this Maybelline is a strong contender!

Next I'm going to talk about this fantastic foundation called the L'Oreal Lumi Magique foundation. It costs only €16.49 and you can purchase it here. This foundation gives medium coverage, and gives a gorgeous dewy glow. Once set with powder, this foundation lasts all day (I just top up around my mouth after eating!). I love the texture of this foundation, it glides on smoothly and doesn't leave a sticky finish. It does a great job of evening out the skin tone without feeling heavy.

I love the rose gold packaging as it looks so much more premium than the price tag. It also comes with a pump which is perfect so that you don't waste any product.

I love how light this foundation feels on my skin, my skin feels like it can breath. I got the shade 'Beige Rose' and it is a perfect match for my skin (I use Mac in NC25). Unfortunately there are only 6 shades available, which is not great but you may be lucky enough to find one that suits you. This is my new favourite daytime foundation and it won't do to much damage to your bank account.

I hope you enjoyed reading this blog!
Lots of Love,
Ally
