Slimming world and weightloss- my journey so far..

I was so surprised by the amount of you that wanted to see my food diaries, I was inundated with private messages and so many of you liked my post on Facebook. Weight can be a very personal and touchy subject and I really struggled with whether I should share my journey with you, but even if I help one person it will be worth it!

Up until about 2 years ago I had an extremely good diet. I'd eat 3 meals a day, a few pieces of fruit and veg, had sweets a few times a week and a takeaway only once a month.  I started working part-time (about 20 hours a week) and was in college full-time and I was so overwhelmed with everything that I made no attempt at preparing my food in advance, and my bad habits continued for 2 years and now I'm suffering the consequences with lots of insecurities and I'm about a stone and a half heavier. I won't go into details about what I hate in my body, because this post is going to be a positive one. I'm going to Cancun at the start of June, so I have ten weeks left to lose the 20 pounds and feel confident in my own body again!

I joined slimming world at the end of February as I felt like I needed someone to weigh me in regularly and keep me motivated towards my goal weight. My group consultant Sinead is beyond helpful, motivating and inspirational. The groups are fantastic as you are sitting with a group of people who have the same goal as you. There are people in attendance who are all different shapes and sizes, everyone is so encouraging and always willing to give tips which is fantastic. When I joined I didn't really know what to expect and it really is an amazing meal plan which caters to everyone. I almost feel like I'm eating too much to be able to lose weight!

I had a stressful few weeks and didn't go to my slimming world meetings, so of course I became unmotivated, slipped into bad habits and had a gain. This week is the week that I start fresh, so I'm calling it Week 1! I will update you with my losses as the weeks go on!

Disclaimer: This is what I have been eating day to day, to get the best results you can join a Slimming World Group. They are located all around the country. Joining fee is only €9 and it is €9 per week (What you'd spend on your takeaway!)
